Where to buy golf clubs and equipment?

1. Website appearance - whilst a flash website is not a guarantee of honesty, if the golf site does not impress you, it is unlikely the product or service will either.
2. Old pages - sites with dead links that don't work are not a good indication of a professional golf store.
3. Technical stuff - only deal with sites with own domain name e.g.www.golfsite.com and check site is updated regularly (at least weekly) at the date on page bottom.
4. Choice - look for a site with a large choice of brands and component options such as golf shafts and grips.
5. Too cheap! - as with any purchase, if the price looks too low, be very cautious.
6. Quality - when buying clone golf clubs, ask what heads and shafts are manufactured from. If they dont tell you, go elsewhere.
7. Fitting - for golf clubs always choose a golf store that provides a fitting service. It's not much good getting the cheapest deal if the shafts are 3 inches too long!
8. Guarantees - only buy from a golf store that offers full refunds and warranties.
9. Recommendations - while they could be fraudulent, look out for customer reviews or better still, links to press articles or memberships of official golf organisations. Search the Web to find any reviews of the site.
10. Contacts - always check they have email address and telephone number. A physical address should also be a prerequisite.
11. Purchase details - make sure price and shipping details are 100% clear.
12. Shipping - check cost so you do not get a nasty shock.
13. Secure payment - only buy from a store with secure link for entering personal or credit card details. Look for accreditation e.g. Verisign. A locked padlock should appear at the bottom of your screen when completing an order form. If not, go elsewhere.
