The MENTAL game of golf
can often be harder to master than the physical mechanics
of hitting the ball. I am sure a Sports psychologist would
help you (and me) but that would be a touch of 'overkill'
for us handicap players. So just follow the following basic
thought patterns for positive thinking and positive golf results:
1. DO NOT THINK NEGATIVELY - put all the
bad possible results of the next shot out of your mind. Do
not worry about consequences.
2. THINK OF A POSITIVE OUTCOME - concentrate
on the exact target for your golf shot. Focus solely on where
you want the ball to go not on any specific details of your
swing or on what you fancy for dinner tonight! |
